Manager, Sales and Marketing

Hit the ground running. Trellon is a political consulting company based in
Washington, DC that specializes in the use of the Internet and New Media. We
are looking to hire a sales and marketing professional to help us solve a
couple challenges we are currently facing:

- We're too busy. Company revenues have grown substantially each year for
the past 3 years and we need to diversify our operations to include
specialists in core areas of sales and marketing.

- We're underexposed. While the right people always know when to call us,
general audiences don't always have an easy time understanding what we do or
how we can help them.

- We have a lot of friends. We regularly work with a pretty interesting
assortment of people and it would be great to engage them strategically to
find if there are better ways to serve the groups we like working with.

- We are growing. This year, Trellon plans to launch several new lines of
business centered around hosted products and we need to ensure we have ways
of getting the word out.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a results driven high achiever who can carry out the
following responsibilities:

- Managing existing business pipelines, responding to requests for proposals
from potential clients in a timely manner and providing relevant information
about our core services to interested parties.

- Managing the content and design of the Trellon.com Web site and developing
strategies to effectively communicate what we are up to and where we are
headed.

- Developing effective channels of communication with our clients, partners
and friends of the company outside of the main company Web site.

- Identifing opportunities to promote our brand and representing Trellon at
various progressive events throughout the US and Europe.

- Developing new business through outreach to organizations in the
political, non-profit and NGO markets to communicate what it is we do and
why they would want to work with us.

- Consulting with the development team on specific client projects to help
define marketing and promotional issues as well as appropriate remedies.

- Develop collateral materials for use in marketing and promotion of the
company in collaboration with the managing partner and other members of the
leadership team.

- Other duties as assigned, with the expectation the marketing team will
grow over time.

Qualifications:

The two key things Trellon considers important about a candidate are
experience and potential. In terms of an ideal candidate, that person would
possess something resembling the following:

- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area plus several years experience in
the field.

- A modern understanding of the political technology market, including
vendors, concepts, methods, personalities and organizations.

- Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills with a focus on
responding to RFPs and producing content for Web sites.

- Past experience managing and growing sales channels.

- The ability to work remotely as part of a larger team responsible for the
operations of the company.

- The ability to quickly learn new concepts and techniques, to evaluate the
effectiveness of various methods of outreach and choose the ones offering
the greatest ROI.

- A genuine desire to make the world a better place.
