It seems to me part of the issue is figuring out how to define what
constitutes a 'support' query.

To me, 'How do I make Drupal do X' is a support question.

'Can Drupal be made to do X' or 'Is Drupal the best tools for X' are not
support questions, and are appropriate to this group. A certain amount
of 'How' is appropriate to answering such a question meaningfully.

Granted, the line between the two can be a bit fuzzy at times, but I
think we should be liberal in what we allow. As long as some people are
asking, and others are answering, I don't see a problem.

If some feel threatened that some members of this list choose to give
away free advice for which the complainer might charge a client, I don't
know what to say, except, don't tell your clients about this list. :-)

Can we start a separate list for discussing what discussions are
appropriate for this list? :-P
