I've found the discussion of globalization/"offshoring" interesting, and I think
it's relevant to our industry. The presentations by Swedish healthcare professor
Hans Rosling have had a big impact on my views on globalization. Apologies if
people think this is off-topic. It feels relevant to me because:

* Economic growth will accelerate in countries other than the U.S.

* Technology and specifically Drupal consulting will be part of that growth, so
we should all consider how we can best compete.

* He uses a cool graphical statistics program to demonstrate his point. Since
watching these, I try to use data and analytics whenever possible, and now I win
more technical arguments. :)

In this presentation, Rosling discusses when income per person in India will
match that of the U.S.

Here's his iconic presentation where he demonstrates there is no more "third
world" and "first world." He draws relationships between countries' health and
wealth using a graphical statistics program, then he diverges into PowerPoint,
THEN he swallows a sword--no kidding.
