I doubt I would qualify, but as someone in the Education field prior to
seeing the Drupal Light, I would love to work with some folks to
develop "Merit Badges" towards certification by the Drupal Association
(see Boy Scouts of America for what a Merit Badge is). <br>

I used to do this with high school kids - <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://hvscouts.com">http://hvscouts.com</a> - we'd
find our reigning expert in whatever tech support thing a school
needed, and he would work with a small group write up a description of
that particular talent and a test for it, and administer it to other
kids. <br>
<br>
One could take a handful of sessions from DrupalCon to articulate what
the "Drupal Developer Certification Merit Badges" would be. <br>
<br>
Until there is such an "open source" - style certification program, any
foray into having the DA "bless" developers is going to be dicey, as
much as it would be valued. <br>
