Thats good input and I have tried to go down that path though the past developers all insisted on 50%.<BR>

I even referenced checked the last programmer who is closely linked to the drupal network in Australia but he took 4 months to tell me he didnt understand the project though his initial scope was 2 weeks work.<BR>

Honestly it a simple site and I was looking for a little input into the best way to set the navigation as it has some Call to action logins required to get all the information.<BR>

To be honest it was simply the developers lack of contact and consistent time delays where no work was performed, and then after all that time to then demand more funds I find unacceptable, if done in a more timely manner I would understand this.<BR>

In terms of the developers fior those who wanted to know, all where given over 90 m in utes briefing face to face, full psd files and detail into the functionality of the site (which included, easily udatable and uploadable flash files, a login to member info and database repository for client information who complete online forms showing interest in the service, other features included being able to email to that database and structre the database to know which clients and interested in different services)<BR>

Third developer said the ftp of the 2nd was corrupted and had to start from scratch.

</SPAN></FONT><LI><FONT FACE="Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><SPAN STYLE='font-size:12.0px'>#4, i referenced checked gave him all the details and access codes and said to him do u want an RFD i will complete one at your guidance, he said lets co-ordinate a meeting and I will take your past project notes and also take a brief from our discussion which went for 90 minutes after the first meting where my general requirements were discussed. I put myself in this professionals hand referenced checked him and waited over 1 month for him to complete the worked he spec’d 2 max 3 weeks this the turned into 4 months where over some periods i heard nothing for over 3 weeks. Then i was asked for more money to complete after we had agreed to a contract and a fixed price agreement. Now he have given me the option of paying more, refunding the deposit, or giving me the work he has done for the 50% deposit. But really - shouldnt i just receive the finished product? Hwy should i wait 4 months to be told this,, how does it give me any confidence i will receive a finished product after another 4 months?... Hence I need to find someone who can do what they ay they can and by a deined date.<BR>

I would strongly advise that you put together a thorough RFP in which you detail the requirements of the project, pointing to sites that offer the features that you want to see on your site, and post it somewhere like on a google doc that you can point people to. That way you'll get a lot of eyes looking over the project, and you'lll be much more likely to get contacted by developers who are ready and capable of handling what your project requires. Surely, after hiring 4 developers and giving them the down payment to start work, you must have a very clear vision of the project, right? <BR>
<BR>
Another thing to consider ... If you still don't have a clear project proposal, detailing all of the deliverables, then before you pay the 50% down, you may want to start the process by paying someone an hourly consultation rate until they provide you with evidence that they have a clear vision for what your website will be. That will give both of you time to assess each other while not making a large commitment. By the time the developer is ready to begin real design and/or development work, you'll know how good their communication skills are and whether they really understand the needs of your project.<BR>
