I agree with some commenters that it's not necessarily the *best* solution for all situations. However, it's flexible enough for most and easy to implement. For very simple applications like yours, embeddeding a premade Google map works fine (via "My Maps" in Google). For more-complex applications, I like what I've heard about the Nice Map, MapBox, and OpenLayers modules but have never used them myself.<br>
