The problem is not evil capitalists verses victimized workers. Sorry Victor, but his whole concept of capitalists being parasites does not reflect reality in the least. <br><br> Far from being parasites, capitalists are creating jobs, wealth, and opportunities for workers -- along with all the suffering and exploitation. <br>
<br>I would even guess that Drupal is only possible because of all the capitalist "parasites" who create jobs for developers, allowing those developers to use their free time (and many their paid time) to contribute to Drupal.<br>
<br>Now, just because I say capitalists are not parasites, doesn't mean I support everything about capitalism, just like believing in a religion doesn't mean you support its excesses. <br><br>As more people become aware of the excesses of large corporations, as more people vote with their wallets, as more voters organize to elect people to represent their interests, capitalism becomes more humane. <br>
<br>The best thing about Drupal is that it helps this process along by creating a low cost tools for people to educate one another and organize . <br><br>What's interesting is that you ask how the open source model can help rebuilding society, while also saying you want to use socialism to win.<br>
<br> In my opionion the open source model is the opposite of socialism. Socialism is about collective ownership. Open Source is about no one owning it. It seems to me Open Source is far more libertarian than it is socialist. <br>
