i think you're being harsh. I actually wrote an email suggesting that this was one of those agile/no fixed functionality projects... but i deleted it ;-)<br><br>imo the debate is healthy as i know of more than one entrepreneur who has had 'engineers' say yes to any budget just for the 30% upfront. Once you've got 30% there are a myriad of ways to wriggle if you want to work like that. <br>

Even "ambitious developers" can get things done cheap, but rarely fast<br>
or good. Heck, that describes my first year of Durpal consulting. I<br>
gave a lot of people some great deals, but if I could do far better<br>
work in half the time rebuilding those same sites today. But then and<br>
now, I wouldn't commit to a fixed timeline that short.<br>
