I think you should share that script with Drupal community. We all
would love to learn about the hacks, you have used to figure out
the Drupal version. :)<br>

Though my intern knows to find Drupal version from CHANGELOG.txt ,
if it is public. Right now in case of Eljay,
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.planttreaty.org/CHANGELOG.txt">http://www.planttreaty.org/CHANGELOG.txt</a> is public and anyone can
see the Drupal version.<br>
