The other thing I should add, that i really like about this, is how 
simple it is to go back to a
core installation.

One of the things I have always loved about FreeBSD above all other 
*nix' i've used it it's
/usr/local/etc directory. At any point, I could delete /usr/local and 
be restored to a base system.
