Note that Karoly's announcement was about dropping Mysql 4.0 support for 
Drupal _6_. We haven't released Drupal 5 yet, so my guess is that Drupal 
6 won't be released untill next summer. That's plenty of time for 
providers to upgrade mysql after the free support stops at the end of 
this year.
