Hello lovely documentationers!

Happy new year! I hope you all had a lovely holiday and rested up, cause we have a shwack (yes, a shwack) of work to do in prep for the D7 launch (which will come all too quickly, I'm sure)! I'm hoping by getting a little more organized, it will help everyone who has time find a niche to settle into and start getting things done earlier than later so we don't have a huge crunch later in the spring.

Over the holiday, I read through the Docs issue queue, updated as many issues as I could, and marked a bunch of critical issues for the D7 launch. Tonight, I updated Addi's old page with all the D7 priorities that are on my radar (with a little help from Webchick):

http://drupal.org/node/515870

Please check out the list, and adopt some issues to work on. If you need help with Handbook stuff, ping me (arianek) or other usual Handbook suspects in the #drupal-docs IRC channel if you need anything and we'll try to help. If you need help with API/Core stuff, try and get a hold of Jennifer (jhodgdon) or any of the core dev types in #drupal-contribute on IRC (http://drupal.org/irc).

Also, just another reminder that Jennifer is holding some docs sprints in #drupal-docs on IRC Wednesday and Thursday this week to review the Core UI text. Details here: http://drupal.org/node/672772.

And please pass on the word that Drupal Docs need help to the uninitiated! Or better yet, hold a Docs sprint on IRC or with your company or local user group! Even if you can even just test the current docs against D7 and file issues for things that need work, that is a great help.

Thanks, and I'm sure I'll talk to you all again soon!
Ariane
