Look in the CHANGELOG.txt file in your Drupal installation's root directory.
If it has "x.x.x, xxxx-xx-xx" as the version and date, then you have a
pre-release version.

The Front Page module is what you want. Make sure you get the version that
matches the version of Drupal you have installed.
