I have developed a commercial site which is based on Drupal and you 
would never know it was based on drupal.  Well, not until you look at 
the events pages and see the tell-tale events.module calendar.

I agree with inkfree, you need to find out how to theme Drupal, and it 
sounds like you need to buy a few CSS books as well.
