[support] Making templates

Hi every:
Some messages before I ask for making some changes to the templates. Now I have a question, in every themes directory I have 5 .php files: block.tpl.php, box.tpl.php, comment.tpl.php, node.tpl.php and page.tpl.php. Wich session use them? For example:
Blog -> node
Book -> node
I need build some especific template for Blog and Articles entries but I don't know if modifying node.tpl.php affect other parts of the system.
