I think the 'article' module mentioned in the module's description is
just an example of a module that creates nodes (like story, page,
blog, or CCK for that matter) but doesn't necessarily display them
they way you want them displayed. Views is the way of displaying all
these nodes in whichever way you want, and definitely worth checking
out.
