[support] Odd behaviour with sub-menus and replication of left sidebar items

I am using Garland in 5.1

I have my Primary links up in the top right turned on. I created a new parent item called "MySite" which had the same url (user/me) as the default "My Account" menu item.

It appeared in the top right but then I'm unable to add any child items to it at all.

Another oddity. When I created it with the URL user/1, the My Account link disappeared from the left on its own accord. Then when I added Edit Profile as a child item with the URL user/1/edit, it did get added as a child and I did go to the edit profile page BUT there were TWO Edit Profile tabs there (next to the usual Track and Contact tabs), each with identical URLs.

In short, is there any documentation concerning sub-menus on drupal.org, specifically menu items that replicate what's already in the main "navigation" sidebar? Is this a Garland problem or does creating Primary Links with default system URLs (user/me, user/me/edit, etc) cause some type of conflict in drupal? I wanted to turn of the default My Account item on the left sidebar but found it was "locked" so not even that's possible.

Thanks for reading all of this! :-)

Neil
