Thanks Rusty for the advice. This is certainly one situation where I
shouldn't have assumed that the error condition was disastrous.

I ran update.php twice more and it seems that most everything is back.
I lost HTML on one page and now have two Administer and two Logout
items on the Nav menu. They also appear twice in Administer » Site
building » Menus. Do you think that disabling one set each to see what
happens is the best first course? If there are no ill effects, I would
think it save to delete the extranneous duplicate.
