[support] Old stuff hanging around

I have some oddness occurring with my 6.8 installation.There are a few
modules that I tried out and subsequently abandoned. The directories
have been removed from the /modules directory, yet the items created
by them are still present in the form of blocks... or, are
mysteriously present, who knows why!

Looking for some wisdom on this. Seems like something being cached.
