[support] File folder outside webfolder

If I'm not wrong, with this solution the files folder will be public again?

Could you add a link from within the Drupal site to the external folder?
Something like:

ln -s /srv/www/vhosts/domain.com/files \
      /srv/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/files
