[support] visit counter

Hello,
I need an information coz I have to set a visit counter in the homepage of
my drupal website.
Actually I tried to activate the statistics module and i should give me
these information but it seems that it doesn't work.
Could you help me to solve it?
Are there other nicer solution for that?
