[support] Drupal does not like APC

Hello,

Today I asked my web host to install the Alternative PHP Cache (APC) and
when they did, Drupal died with the error:

[Sat Jan 10 00:05:01 2009] [error] [client 121.247.173.39] PHP Fatal
error:  Cannot run code from this file in conjunction with non encoded
files in /var/www/html/community/themes/garland/block.tpl.php on line 412

Turning off APC "solved" the problem. What's really frustrating is that
block.tpl.php only has 8 lines, so the error is almost meaningless. It
might not even have anything to do with Garland.

Any ideas? This isn't critical, but I would like to get better
performance out of my server if I can.
