[support] Does adding taxonomy vocabularies and terms modify Image Galleries?

I recently started adding Taxonomy terms and vocabularies to a site that I
had a bunch of image galleries on. The galleries mysteriously seemed to
vanish around this time. Does adding taxonomy terms modify other modules? It
seems strange it would.. but I thought I'd check?
