[support] Flag Javascript API

Hey all, 

I've been building a similar feature to Facebook's "like" and in doing so I've embedded a flag toggle and counter in a list view. It's all workiing the way I want except I'd like for the counter to update when a user flags the content instead of having to wait until refreshing the page. I've looked over as much documentation as I can find but being rather inadept with jQuery I'm not doing so hot with this feature. Any ideas? Can someone point me in the right direction or help me with a snippet of code?
