Use a mail client that supports replying to the individual message of a
digest or maybe find the mail in the archive and use the reply
functionality of the archive service if it has one.  But with your
current client please do change the Subject back to the original subject
line even if it is going to create a new thread id because it makes it
easier to connect the threads.
