Presumably you also want to restrict access to the node itself which is
labelled as foo and bar, not only not show menu entries. From your original
mail it also appears that you do not want to have separate menus, so I
suggest to use

http://drupal.org/project/content_access

<http://drupal.org/project/content_access> I should hide menu entries to
nodes on role basis.
