[support] Context-dependent menus

This is my first post, hi all!

BTW I can't seem to get the search archive feature to work, so apologies if this covers old ground. I'm interested in getting context-dependent secondary menus working. In general I know how to achieve this: set primary links source and secondary links source to the same menu, and then the appropriate children items will be displayed in the secondary links. What complicates matters for this particular design is that what is conceptually one primary links menu is separated into two discrete menus. I was hoping for some advice on the best way to get the secondary links to be dependent on two separate primary links menus. Possibilities I see:

* Make a separate secondary menu for each primary links item, and use block visibility to switch them on/off. Yuck, but do-able.

* Make one primary links menu and use CSS magic to separate it into two. The two menus are fairly close (one is below the page title, one above) so again this is doable, but again it's not very nice imho.

Suggestions much appreciated, and I'm not afraid to do a bit of coding if necessary.

TIA

Andy
