[support] Adding next/prev links to node view

Hi all,

I have a view that displays a chronological list of nodes of type news_item. I'd like it so that when the user clicks on a link to a particular article, the page they see has a next/prev link. I can see a number of ways to do this: could folk let me know of any issues or other approaches? Many thanks.

1. Use a custom preprocess function to get the appropriate link and update the template to output it. Don't want to reinvent the wheel!

2. Use a 1-item view to display a node, and use View's pager. I read about this method when searching around. I'm not sure how I would create the link to the individual item (ie I'd need an NID -> views page no. conversion), but I'm sure it's doable.

3. Use custom_pagers. It's beta now and has 16 open bugs for 6.x. Haven't really investigated it though.

4. Use prev_next. It's a dev version, haven't tried it out.

Can anyone share some ideas?
