fyi - I run a lot of lists with sympa (www.sympa.org) - a very powerful, 
open source, enterprise scale list manager, very customizeable, at the 
expense of a bit of setup and administration pain (sort of like 'sympa 
is to mailman as drupal is to wordpress')
