I do not recommend using the contemplate module which stores PHP code in the
database which can be a security risk.
Consider using theme preprocess functions instead

Also keep in mind that any modifications to the theme layer will be specific
only to that theme -- this might not matter much , but do keep in mind if
the theme changes or is revised in the future.
