A site in a multi-site configuration will basically behave just like a
stand-alone site as for as things like RAM consumption,assuming it has
the same modules loaded.

The negative aspect to RAM of a multi-site installation is that you may
be tempted to place more modules in sites/all, which will cause them to
be loaded for all the multi-sites, and thus make the sites somewhat heavier.

The slight positive would be that files that are shared might be better
cached saving disk reads, but this is probably minimal improvement on a
shared host.
