[support] updating tnid in database isn't resulting in changes on the front end : Drupal 7

Hi,

I'm working under the assumption that manually changing tnid in the node
table will result in the translated node showing up when a user clicks on
the 'translate' tab. I have two nodes : node 600 in En and node 601 in Fr.
Ive updated the tnid for node 601 to point to 600, but that hasn't done
anything on the front end.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
