CCK to the rescue! Create a field for each type of reference you need for the
content type you are using.<br>

href="http://jodyhamilton.net/node-theming-field-deconstructing-node-content-drupal-5">customizing
the relevant .tpl file in your theme</a>, you can make those fields present on
your node exactly how you want them.<br>
