custom tables, you need to provide support for it by writing special hooks into
your module. If you want to learn to do this there’s a link to the api

I’ve just tried to create a View to do just that, but nothing appears
that’s not a custom field to be used by a node type.<br>

Am I going to have to do this in the module?<br>
