A quick boost for drupal 6 if you're seeing php errors is replace
your core with pressflow. That handles watchdogs messages
differently and I've seen a large difference.<br>
Of course, in the long run you want to fix the errors but this will
help in the meantime.<br><font color="#888888">

There are many things that can be done to optimize sites,
including Drupal sites. Incorrectly configured modules,
poor programming, poor module interaction, slow MYSQL
server (or unoptimized).<br>

I used Godaddy as my host for a while, but they had
horribly slow Drupal sites (other sites were fine). When
I switched to BlueHost, all my performance issues
vanished. I hope that helps some.<br>
