I needed to work with SendGrid to get my forms to work but I don't like using any third party. I do use the smtp module and debugging is fine. Settings for gmail are spelled out. I would also just check your permissions. Make sure all of admin is checked. </div>

I find no difference between phpinfo at localhost root and phpinfo<br>
at the drupal site.<br>
But : php is looking for sendmail - but it is postfix that is my<br>
mail agent.<br>
From both instances of phpinfo() - I see a label<br>
"/usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i" and a value "/usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i"<br>

But this is not the major problem (now you have pointed me a a<br>

e-mail...." error message from an anonymous user send an email<br>

This looks terrible for me. That is what needs to be resolved.<br>

And this does look to be a drupal question. Since I'm still a relatively inexperienced Drupal developer, I'm not going to be much help, however there are people on this list that can solve your problem and have probably waited for us to get this far out of courtesy. I have helped as much as I can but there will be others that pick it up from here. Since I don't quite understand what you are trying to accomplish, I can't even ask any beneficial questions.<br>

Don't sell yourself short. You've been a big help! You have at<br>
least put me on to an issue relevant to my desktop. I think there<br>
may be two separate issues, so I'm going to rephrase what is<br>
happening at my domain at <a href="http://akwebsoft.com" target="_blank">akwebsoft.com</a> :<br>

I constantly see error messages :<br>
"Unable to send e-mail. Contact the site administrator if the<br>
problem persists."<br>
I see those error messages as admin __and__ I see them as an<br>
anonymous user when I send a message through the contact form.<br>
1)Using a PHP script as you have instructed - which uses the PHP<br>
mail() function works.<br>
2)Sending a test email from the SMTP Authentication module (which<br>
I installed after these error starting showing up after I updated<br>
to 7.24) - works.<br>
3)I have set all email addresses to the same and to the same as<br>
the domain from which it is published.<br>
I __suspected__ that it could be the "Logging And Alerts" module<br>
but when I disabled it I still got the same message.<br>

I at the end of my day here. I will pursue it further tomorrow.<br>
Again, thanks to Chris for his help and I hope to be further<br>
