Here's where the Drupal community can shine. If it doesn't exist and you can grok it, you can create the documentation or example.
You might consider creating a cck_examples project. If you think you're getting a grasp of this stuff and you can maintain a good example project, do it. I can't take on another module, but would comaintain it with you and offer guidance.
We also desperately need a views_integration_example, for the same reason.

But when the discussion is about something like CCK (which is so widely implemented that it's been incorporated into D7 core), I think that it at least merits discussion, and/or referencing in the tutorials. I can't imagine any person who is writing a module for Drupal would not want this feature.Plus, there should be SOME documentation on the 'net about how to implement this. As far as I can tell, it's not. It's so much "not," that one person on here actually wrote to say that what I wanted was impossible - and this is a developer list.
