I, too, was sounding the alarm on this one months ago... :(
I was sounding the alarm too, but was told it was too late.
Given the track record of the community, we will change it at some
point from profiles to distro/package, leave it like that for two or three
release cycle before someone decides it was a bad move, and change
it back to profile.
