+1 even if I'd underline that if it was a pure framework it wouldn't
be so successful.

I think Drupal still have to remain the core of self-sufficient
application, not a library on which to build.

Agreed.

If only that the modules in core allow a basic blog or site, and demonstrate
how to use the API.

We are not CakePHP, Qcodo or Django in PHP.
