There are a couple of patches in the codefilter issue queue which would be nice to see applied on Drupal.org. The whitespace issue is particularly annoying. Is Steven Wittens still maintaining this module? There are several other issues as well that I haven't created patches for because I'm not exactly a regexpr guru.
