Fwd: [General inquiry (other)] The next generation drupal UI configuration?
Hi, I was asked to share this link on the development mailing list. Maybe there is someone willing to convert it to a contrib module. It looks interesting. Carli claims that it's still a prototype, though. Konstantin

Hi Drupal Team!
I've graduated from University and did a graduation project that "might" interest you. Since I have little time to develop it further, I thought someone else might find it useful. There's a video of the project on: www.freesite.ch/gravity Please watch it. => Could the next Drupal UI configuration be similar?
If you're interested I'd happily give you further information on it and even send you the complete source code. The JavaScript functionality is done with jQuery.
Thanks for letting me know how you find it and if it's of any use for you!
Best wishes
Xapadoo Carli Beeli

Well the first problem I can see is that it's written using .NET whereas Drupal is written using PHP. Am not really sure how using that as our admin interface would fit in with Drupal, as it seems a little simplistic and doesn't really reflect the direction the project is heading in. A PHP version of the theme builder, as a contributed module, might be pretty cool however. Of course someone will need to develop and maintain it. :) Cheers, Liam McDermott.

"Drupal Manager is an implementation of a remote administration client for Drupal. It consists two parts : * A set of drupal modules providing remote configuration service * A XUL client that can be run by XULRunner or inside Firefox" So, if it's worth it we could easily get the ASP.net service to talk to something like the drupman remote configuration service modules. But really the problem is usually the idea, not the coding, so if there is a great idea here then perhaps we can just copy that.
