I actually didn't know that setting could be used to get rid of the links until now. I've been deleting the call from themes.

Neither of which say anything about getting rid of the "Edit Primary Links" link, which seems to be somehow tied to the themes, because deleting the primary links menu item does not make it go away. Steven Peck wrote:
