[drupal-devel] [Fwd: [drupal.org] moviereview.module - New]
-------- Original Message -------- Subject: [drupal.org] moviereview.module - New Date: 27 Feb 2005 22:49:04 -0000 From: emiliano@opiniaopublica.com Dries, Emiliano (http://drupal.org/user/16470) has sent you a message via your contact form (http://drupal.org/user/1/contact) at drupal.org. If you don't want to receive such e-mails, you can change your settings at http://drupal.org/user/1. Message: Hello Dries! How are you doing? I'm writing you because I've just adapted book review module to a movie review module. Since I'm not a PHP programmer, the only thing I can do is update this module everytime bookreview.module gets updated. :-) I'm saying all this because I don't know if you are interested in having it published or not. You may see it in action here: http://www.novayork.com/index.php?q=moviereview If you know someone who might maintain this module, no problem for me, really. If nobody can and you think it's good to make it available, whenever bookreview gets updated I update moviereview.... Thansk, Regards, Emiliano. -- Dries Buytaert :: http://www.buytaert.net/
Won't the new flexible content approach remove the need for this kind of module. (as in, it would be easy enough to do a 'movie review' content type using the current flexinode module) I myself was interested in 'book reviews' for a website, but bookreview.module didn't suit my needs perfectly. Maybe other people who want movie reviews will also wish for slight variations. Could the new content.module (I like the straight-forwardness of 'content.module') have a set of pre-defined (but editable) content types for this type of thing? Dries Buytaert wrote:

Hello Dries!
How are you doing?
I'm writing you because I've just adapted book review module to a movie review module.

That is the CCK's goal, so let's hope it can full-fill your desire. Note that the new CCK is a work in progress: it might not be available for another few months. However, if you feel like being a beta or alpha tester, you can probably start testing the CCK in the very near future. Check with Jonathan Chaffer (JonBob).

That's correct. The features/fields of the review module are often debated. -- Dries Buytaert :: http://www.buytaert.net/
How about if I volunteer to be the maintainer of this module until it is superseded by CCK? Is that what we are looking for? -- Chris Johnson

Sure, but it has a long way to go still. Goba
