Here is how it was mapped from the old days, which was confusing and too technical (not only computer science, but biology too!). - Taxonomy -> Categories - Vocabulary -> Vocabulary (this one is the confusing part, perhaps that is the only thing that needs to be renamed. How about just Category item or Category ID?).- Term -> Term-
yeah, i remember that. hmmmmm. see, i think of it in terms of a dead-tree book (not the module). There's all the (key)words that help create the index of a book. But if you want to better organize the index and do so based on the major topics in the book, then you create category sections. So the taxonomy is the whole index of tags/keywords/categories/terms. the vocabularies organize the terms into main sections of categories. the terms themselves are the individual categories/tags/keywords.
