Hello world, I started a little experiment to gather usability feedback: http://drupal.org/node/82282 There are already some great suggestions. Hopefully more will follow, and hopefully some developers will pick them up and turn them into issues/patches. -- Dries Buytaert :: http://www.buytaert.net/

I can't read anything smaller than a header on any of the screen shots. If I use the "All Sizes" button to look at the largest size, the notes aren't available.

I'm afraid not. Lots of good suggestions in the screenshots though! Hopefully, we can tackle some during the freeze. -- Dries Buytaert :: http://www.buytaert.net/
I signed up, posted some screenshots, and they are not approving me for public view. Checking terms of use, they don't like screenshots, avatars, smilies, etc. You have to post some photos first, real photos... Then later (no idea when), post the screenshots. A convoluted and frustrating process. My screenshots, posted over a week ago, are still not public. I'm sure I am not the only person. With the gallery plugins available for Drupal, why are we not using them to communicate screenshots? I've been in the IT business for over 35 years and find that sometimes the solution we find is more than we need, and sometimes we can make better use of resources already available. I suggest we rethink the Flickr approach for Drupal 5 feedback. My 2 cents Gerry On 9/6/06, Gary Feldman <dpal_gaf_devel@marsdome.com> wrote:

Flickr might be blocking those. I suggest you post a direct link to your screenshot in the comments of the thread on Drupal.org, or that you create an issue with a direct link to your screenshot.

Because these don't support notes. As stated publicly, the Flickr- thing was just an experiment. Collecting annotated screenshots is very valuable, IMO, so I suggest we start looking for an alternative solution. A gallery on drupal.org might do the trick (even though it doesn't support notes). -- Dries Buytaert :: http://www.buytaert.net/

James is indeed. I'm pushing him to just make the code he does have no public, then other people can jump in and help. Bug him the next time you see him on IM or IRC /me blows walkah a kiss FYI -- the Fotonotes implemented by flickr are actually a standard (http://fotonotes.net/) and the information is actually written into the JPEGs. -- Boris Mann Vancouver 778-896-2747 San Francisco 415-367-3595 Skype borismann http://www.bryght.com

I just committed an early-stage "fotonotes" module - that will add exactly this kind of functionality for drupal image nodes. It might be too soon to really start using this in production, but i will be continuing to work on it for client-related requirements and hope to bring it along quickly. So then, yes, a gallery on drupal.org would be ideal :) -- James Walker :: http://walkah.net/ :: xmpp:walkah@walkah.net
