[drupal-devel] Google Summer of Code
Hi everyone, There was an announcement yesterday at http://code.google.com/ about the Summer of Code initiative, http://code.google.com/summerofcode.html. Google is providing a stipend of $5000 per developer, of which $4500 goes to the successful applicant and $500 to the mentoring organization upon completion of a project. A Mentoring Organisation FAQ is at http://code.google.com/mentfaq.html, and project propositions are welcome at http://wiki.apache.org/general/SummerOfCode2005. A project needs to have at least one mentor for the students. Cheers, Mark

Whoops, that's what happens with cut-and-paste! Obviously, we'll need our own Drupal page for project propositions ;)
By the way, I'd suggest moving fast on this so that we get on the list in time for students to apply to the program. Our application should go in today or tomorrow, so it would be nice if y'all could take a look. Robert Douglass wrote:

There was a list somewhere of project ideas we came up with for some of Dries's undergrad students(?) I think it was. Maybe some of them would provide possibilities. I'm not having any luck finding references to it on drupal.org using search, or I'd provide a link. Sorry. :-( -- Chris Johnson
