When a dc:date is indexed as date type in Solr, and it contains non-Solr-compatible date format, it won't be indexed, because Solr raised an error "org.apache.solr.common.SolrException: Invalid Date String:'2010-01-28'". The current change flag the date type fields, and run the date check function on that. Maybe the "XC OAI blocking cron?" issue (#791914) is in connection with this bug.
