The fields are weighted and you can reorder them in the admin form. That only allows the fields to be ordered within the taxonomy section; CCK allows you to reorder the taxonomy section as a whole.

I think I already knew that module but perhaps I misunderstood its use.
I understand that it adds the ability to associate fields with taxonomy
terms, but how will that then allow me to re-order the taxonomy fields
in the node submission form ?
