hello Mohammed,

I had the same question as you're having.. the way I do it now is by putting the strings (words, or pieces of text) I want to translate between t(). afterwards you can look for your string in the locales admin and translate each string for each language. to call the string in, let's say, a menu, you can use a <?php echo t(...) ?>

dunno if the echo is the cleanest way to do it, but it works fine for me.

best,

dear listers,
hello. I have been experimenting with the i18n module to creat a multi lingual site, and so far I have been able to translate nodes as expected. however, I need help with how to get the 'language dependent variables' to work. I know I should be modifying the config file, but where is that file? anybody who ever done this please help me out.
I want in the end to have different site title, mission statement, footer, menu, etc. for each language.
any help will be highly appreciated.
regards,
Mohammed Al-Shar'
