Thanks for everybody's comments. I did change the /tmp directory permissions, inadvertently. I only use unix command lines rarely, and realize that I did a chgrp xyz /tmp, which changed the root folder, rather than the one I thought I was changing.

So, no blame for the security plugin.

The security module only reports information, it doesn't change or try
to fix anything.
